Rape Survivor of Yahya Jammeh Addresses ASP 18 on behalf of Africa Legal Aid

In the spirit of AFLA's strategy to put victims at the center stage of rights and accountability, Toufah Jallow, the former beauty queen who inspired Gambia's MeToo Movement after accusing ex-dictator Yahya Jammeh of rape, addressed the General Debate of the 18th Session of the Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court on behalf of AFLA.
The exiled Jammeh now wants to return to The Gambia. Thousands of his supporters have taken to the streets demonstrating in his favour. More alarmingly, Jammeh's interim party leader has threatened "bloodshed" should Jammeh be arrested upon his return.
